I only raised to 60 pre-flop because I wanted callers, but as soon as the Ace flopped I became fairly passive, I was hoping my small bet on the River would just be called by a weak Ace but with his push it was an obvious fold right?

Should I have bet more on the turn?

I dont mind getting callers preflop with Aces but not Kings for this specific reason. I say raise more preflop and the C-bet the flop. If you get a caller consider slowing way down on turn and river.

    Raise to 120 PF.

Probe the flop for a little more than 1/2PS. Shut down if you get action.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the chance of one of 9 players having an ace pre-flop somewhere around 80%? What do you suppose the chances of someone calling that bet with a K/8 or any ace this early in the tournament?

Edit: Obviously, a K/8 would be the kind of caller you want, but the problem is that now you have two eights on the board in addition to the ace and you're leading out.

Edit2: I just thought I'd mention the whole aside from there being an ace side.

The only reason I raised as small as I did was because I was the SB and only had 1 limper so I figure the BB would call with any 2 and then the limper would call. Of course I understand this is risky, but I was confident I would be able to get away from the hand if the flop was dangerous, which I did, to a degree. I know I lost chips but it was only 600 or so and it was still early so I had plenty of time to come back.

Push hard PF. If you are called and an A hits, you lose..

If you play a lot. Search your PS history folder e.g. /Program Files/PokerStars/HandHistory/<username>/ Check how many times you had KK and how mant time an A hit on the flop. You will find the results pretty interesting. . .

With a limp you raised 2x +1 in a low stakes tourney at the 1st level - too small even if you want action.
Oncew a flop bet is called in 2 places on an A high flop I check and fold to any bet on turn. If turn and river are 2 black 3s then you can consider calling a river bet.

Should have shutdown after flop, those 2 callers should've been a red flag
