    Default AK 2-barrel

So, yeah, not been a great month for me so far. I'm not exactly getting any help from the poker gods but there are some definite leaks in my game which need looking at. I'm going back to basics with this one, is 2-barrelling this the right way to go? I'm fairly new to the table, no reads/stats as such but the villain doesn't strike me as a particularly knowledgeble player.

I've been watching the Brystmar SSNL CR vids and he's all for these kinds of plays. Is this standard?

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

I don't think I make this play without reads.

As Seany says it's probably a good idea to observe table for a while. Maybe you ran into a CS

def a check on the turn. he looks like he's peeling overs like a typical cs phish and if he is passive it will go check check river check check and you'll win most of the time.

betting will only get you called by hands that you are behind if not he'll fold his missed overs which you are ahead of anyway

Your flop bet is fine in my opinion. I think the obvious street in question is the turn here. This kind of bet is very read-dependent, and while I like your agrgression, I feel that it is misplaced here. My best guess for how this hand will play out is that if I check behind, he will check the turn. You can check behind and pick up a small pot or lose a small pot. If he pushes the turn, it is an easy fold, without losing the extra bet.

If the turn had been a high card, then I 2-barrel bet here. However if he didnt leave after the flop bet then the 7 is not going to scare him away. So I check here.

If he checks river then I will fire a 2-barrel on the river if a high card comes on board, otherwise I check it down.

None taken, haven't played in a while. Haven't played online in over a year, so I don't doubt that.
