    Default Do we like this?

Not long on table, I've hardly played a hand though. I was thinking about folding UTG, then raising, and eventually went with the limp (probably worst option lol). When the button raised I went for a "tricky" play, do we like it or not?

ive found from playing NL25 that everyone fears the worst while still calling down hoping, just in case, maybe, possibly, A high is still good despite them having to put their whole stack in to find out.

i generally try to avoid any kinda trickery like this at that level, except as in my other post.

naturally, he was convinced u had AA so he had to fold his 93o.

also, if ur caught between folding and raising, fold......personally, id have raised this up instead of limping.

I'm not a fan of this move because this move is meant to trap an oppenent into being in a pot with you. The only problem then is if he smooth calls with a better hand like say a/k and an ace hits you just trapped yourself for the most part. I'm not a fan of the tricky play especially when most people you play with aren't good enough to recognize the theory behind the move you are making. I think either raise or fold here.. Even with a bigger hand like QQ-AA UTG I don't like the limp raise b/c it may not get executed and now again you are in a tough spot with AA in a multiway pot now.

I agree that limping isn't a great idea.

But as far as people not recognizing the theory behind the play, I disagree. It happens ALOT at NL25, people will limp/re-raise their aces and kings all day long. I like to limp my JJ/TT to mimic the same play. As played in this hand I'm scratching my head thinking "why did I limp?" and then when the button raises, it's too good an opportunity to turn down imo.

This is a move I do, maybe, once in a blue moon. Sure you're going to credit for AA or KK if you're running like 15/10 or 20/5 and your player is observant. But only credit for the first time.

I keep forgetting you play full ring instead of 6max. So here's what I reckon:

    Fold

    Fold

    Fold

    Raise

    Limp

I play both but I've been on a downswing for basically the whole of April and full ring lets me relax a bit more.

I never tried this move but I like it. It looks sexier than the limp-call I occassionally do with Ax type of hands from EP (provided I don't fold them for some reason, which is the standard play)

It's better they fold then call or reraise, because then your beat more often then not.
