Default Overpair picks up a straight draw

Not much on the villain, got moved to a new table recently. I've not seen many hands on the table so they don't have much on me.

Preflop: Is the raise the best option here?
Flop: I push this all day long, yes?

It's a new table, we have small/medium pair in early position and we definitely don't need to gamble with an M of 14. I'm probably just calling here and hope to see a cheap flop.

Flop as played, I'm shoving as well. If I just limped PF and caught this flop, I'd probably be looking to get it all in anyways.

My thinking here was I can't play it for set value cos with an M of 14 I'm not getting the implied odds that I need (HOHII mentions this for mid-pairs and suited connectors). Therefore it's either raise or fold imo.

The blinds were going up in less than 10 mins as well which would put my M down to 10 or so and I figured I can't be sitting around waiting for much better.

I think the biggest factor is our position. I don't want to start building a big pot with 88 out of position. Plus the blinds aren't really worth picking up at this point, which is what you hope to do by raising. If it's only raise or fold for you, then fold.
