Default AKs, is anybody folding here?

$10 45 man SnG, so 6 places get paid

The villain was a tight player but in such a low M situation can you possibly fold AKs? I usually figure AA or KK is only a small chance when i hold AK so I thought for a few seconds before calling and decided he had QQ.
Considering the size of the blinds I figured I was getting pretty good odds for what was probably going to be a race.

AKs fares well against a lot of hands he could be pushing with here.
If you are one in a million, there's eight just like you in Manhattan.

my first thought was fold, but when I notice his all-in was only 4x the BB the decision gets tougher. If you were button, or better yet - a blind, and he was the only one in so far I would insta-call, but with 5 people behind me I may be able to lay this down. I usually prefer to be the raiser, rather than the caller in these situations.

Still, not a bad choice... I think most of the time I woulda called too. With 15 outs on the flop, it's too bad none came.

    1. To be honest the only hands that are calling here are AA and KK and I think there's a slim chance anybody has that because of my holding. This didn't worry me too much. Earlier on in a tourament you might get donkeys calling with a wider range of hands despite 2 people being all in but not on the bubble.

    2. I agree 100%, this was one of my first thoughts when I had the decision.

    3. Yeah, thanks, I was in pretty good shape after the flop!

Definite push here. Your M is <4, so is his and you're about to be nailed by the blinds in a couple of hands, I'm pushing with far worse than AK here.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.
