I like the line...
If he is calling the flop with a mid PP he may fold to a bet here on turn, cause AK now beats him. Coupled with the possibility you have a higher PP than his, this K is a really scary card for him. + if you check, your flop bet may look like a cont bet with AQ or a mid PP, and this K could look like a scary card for you. He might think he can steal this pot.
So I like the play. It may be the only way to take more money from a hand you beat here...
On the other hand, you go broke if he has you beat... but only 88 is a concern here IMHO.
And aren't you supposed to go broke anyway, on that kind of board and action with AA if your opponent out draw you?
So yes I like the line.Originally Posted by Girevik

If you put $15/$193 (other guy's stack) in preflop I think you have to go broke with AA (especially at 6max) as an overpair unless you have a really solid read or the board is 4567 of 1 suit and you dont have the A of that suit.
I also wouldn't be surprised if he had a set. Given that he limp-called the raise a hand like AK/KQ or TT+ seems unlikely but the check on the turn gets value when he doesn't have anything to make up for the times he does have a set.
