I have played poker for years. I have finally decided to try my skill at the casinos and try to start pursuing a career. I played in an $80 tourney this past Sunday. It was my second tourney at a casino (placed 2nd in the first).

We started with $1000 chips. Everyone at my table was playing tight. One guy (Jim) was playing a lot less tight than the others. He was chip leader because of this, but only minutely because of stealing blinds. A girl at the table had played 2 other hands (Rhonda). She won one and folded the other. I knew she was playing tight.

Blinds had gone up twice.

As far as my plays....I folded at least 20 hands. I raised in medium position with AJ suited and someone re-raised me when a K Q 2 hit the flop, so I folded.

I am on the button. I get pocket 3's. Rhonda was the only one that had called at this point. I raised from $100 to $250. Big Blind called and Rhonda called. Flop comes 10 3 2 all unsuited. Big Blind checks. Rhonda very quickly goes all in. I had her covered by $200 chips, so after a second I decide to call and go all in to try to get BB to call me. He folds. I am sure I have this pot. I have Rhonda pinned on AA, KK, etc, two overcards (trying to steal), but honestly I thought A 10 (giving her high board pair with ACE kick). She flipped over pocket 10's (giving her the set of 10's).

I may have hesitated a little more if she had only bet into me and not gone all in so quick.

So, my question is....Did I make the right play. Do you have to call the all in when you have the second best hand out there? Did I bust out on a hand that just tends to happen from time to time or did I make a bad play?

It severely crippled me. Once the big blind came around I had 50 chips left. I caught Suited Big Slick and busted out there. So, the threes just crippled me.
