The guy cold-called twice preflop so he can have anything. You're in such horrible shape when you're beat that I'd fold and give him an "LOL." The guy gotta have the same hand, 99-JJ, or a big club draw, right? A set or straight are very possible, as is a straight/flush draw.

Cold call twice is a pocket pair the majority of the time. On that flop 88 is not beating many pocket pairs.
