    Default Thoughts

This was a turbo tournament. Do you call here or not?

I figured both my cards were live, and if I called I had the chance to knock out two players in one go... therefore reaching the money. If I lose this hand I still have 2000 chips left, and could stand a decent chance if I play well.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    MP (t2595)
    Button (t1145)
    SB (t1785)
    Hero (t3675)
    UTG (t4300)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 3, 4.
2 folds, Button raises to t1145, SB raises to t1785, Hero calls t1585.

    Flop: (t4715) 2, 8, 7 (3 players)

    Turn: (t4715) 6 (3 players)

    River: (t4715) 7 (3 players)

    Final Pot: t4715
    Results in white below:
Button has Jd Ad (one pair, sevens).
SB has Kc Ah (one pair, sevens).
Hero has 3h 4h (flush, eight high).
    Outcome: Hero wins t4715.

Never mind. This is a Sit n' Go. This is a horrible call. Your status quo equity of folding is too high in relation to you calling and losing.

My chances of winning here are about the same as my pot equity...

    hell no.

as it turns out you are 2:1 dog, your pot odds are 1.9:1

this is a best case scenario for you, with one opponent dominating the other. most of the time you are 3:1 or 4:1, you can't call this.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

but that only because you know what they have.

lets say one of them already has a pair. then you are behind 4-1 not the 2-1 you were hoping for.

worst case scenario over pair vs higher suited connectors (j10hearts), vs 34hearts, now you are looking at close to 6-1.

alex is right even though, sometimes i'll take that shot believing its 2-1, especially if its a re buy situation.
