Default To C-bet or Not to C-bet?

    ....that is the question.
Both players seem a little loose, CO especially.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed)

    CO ($61.35)
    Button ($52.80)
    Hero ($102.95)
    BB ($55.20)
    UTG ($104.45)
    UTG+1 ($96.20)
    MP1 ($120.50)
    MP2 ($82.15)
    MP3 ($59)

Preflop: Hero is SB with , .
    3 folds, MP2 raises to $4, 1 fold, CO calls $4, 1 fold, Hero raises to $16, 1 fold, MP2 calls $12, CO calls $12.

    Flop: ($49) , , (3 players)

    First to act.
    Hero......???

    Results in white below:
    Hero bets $30.
    MP2 folds.
    CO folds.
    No showdown.
    Hero wins $79.
I think I'm going to give up playing poker.........and take up repeatedly hitting myself in the nuts

I would cbet in this situation. You've represented a premium pair pre-flop and both players actions lead me to think that they have mediocre holdings and are probably looking to bust you if they hit a big flop. CO has flat called 2 raises which screams pocket pair to me. MP2 is unlikely to have a big pp based on him just calling your reraise.

I think that flop is perfect for you in that the only hands that you are worried about are 22, 33 and 99. There's no obvious draws for them to float you with.

No way can you c-bet at a full-ring with 2 players calling your PF 3-bet.

You're essentially bluffing into 2 players Out Of Position.

If either of them have a mid PP (66-10s), they are not folding.

If they have AQ, AJ, KQ etc - they might even float you depending on your c-bet.

If you do c-bet, how much would you c-bet? The pot is $49. In order to take down the pot on the flop - you would have to bet atleast half the pot..probably more. So, that's $25-$35 you're risking on a stone cold bluff into 2 players.

    I can't see c-betting here being +EV

Having said the above, I probably c-bet in this spot about 15% of the time to vary my play.

If you are not planning on C-betting this flop here then fold preflop.

You are reraising this big to take the lead in the hand and are only going to pair approx 1/3 of the time. You have to hope they are folding a hand like 9T if you bet this flop, if they reraise they probably have a set.

normally i wouldn't recommend cbetting OOP into 2 players, but in this case I'm doing the same as you (and betting $30 for that matter as well). As meldon says your pf reraise is representing a big pair, if anyone else has a big pair they're repopping you pf with that kind of action. a bet of $30 means you need them to fold 3/8 (i think!) to break even, I think that's ok here, especially given the chance that you could catch an ace or king later on and win that way.

CO has $45 left and MP2 has $66 so betting $30 gives yourself decent odds to call if they push anyway imo.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.
