    Default Extracting Maximum Value

It's been a rough morning. I've had my aces cracked and lost a hand to FH over FH. I'm down almost $200 for the morning and havent had a winning session in almost 3 days. So needless to say, I'm fragile and I'm playing a little scared. I've got no reads on the villain but with the way things are going for me lately and the way he played this hand, I'm afraid he's holding the K high flush.

How bad is my flat call on the river? After all is said and done, I've got about $75 left before I call his $30 bet. Was I smart to play it defensively or am I playing too scared?

I think minus any reads and at $100NL you don't give up too much playing it the way you did.

I would probably reraise the turn to $50 and push the river (as played I would push the river all in to his bet also) since you do have the J high flush and he could have T9s, 76s etc. I also like seeing the A on board as people are less likely to play Kxs than Axs, so he probably has to have specifically KQs or KTs rather than K5s for example.

The turn made a straight, you beat over 50% of other flushes and so therefore I think pushing is +EV unless you have very strong read.

    RAISE RAISE RAISE
If you aren't going to push with this hand on this kind of board then you shouldn't call a raise PF with suited cards unless you have the ace. As wotawaster said, he is much more likely to play Axs than Kxs, and if he has a flush it is more likely that it is lower than yours.

repop the turn, its a raised pot so im willing to lose my stack to a higher flush. Flush over flush rarely happens anyways in a raised pot.

+You played the turn perfectly in position. He has to bet the river and he'll commit himself to your stack in the process.
