Default PF I played it perfectly, post flop......not so much.

    1. I can't believe I fell for his trap on the turn.
    2. I hate min re-raises on the flop. I know I'm behind but I feel like I'm obligated to call.
    3. River was a great bluff card. If my read is right and the villain is weak, I think a push here could it take it down.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (8 handed)

    UTG+1 ($35.35)
    MP1 ($77.40)

    CO ($10.70)
    Button ($48.70)
    Hero ($76.85)
    BB ($47.20)
    UTG ($10)

6 folds, Hero completes, BB raises to $2, Hero raises to $8.25, BB calls $6.

    Flop: ($16.25) , , (2 players)
Hero bets $8, BB raises to $16, Hero calls $8.

    Turn: ($48.25) (2 players)

    River: ($48.25) (2 players)
    Hero bets $52.85 (All-In), BB calls $23.20 (All-In).

    Final Pot: $124.30

    Results in white below:
BB has Tc Jc (full house, jacks full of tens).

I think this flop is good for either check-folding, or check-raising all-in.

You played it perfectly preflop, so he doesn't have the odds to play for set value. So most of the time, he'll be sitting there with a mid pair or stuff like that (e.g. AT, 77...) And even if he has trips, you have 4 outs giving you some extra equity.

    great bluff card...

if you dont have the nuts sorry man, he screams he wants minimum action, if the board pairs like that id be skeptical to keep pushing this guys buttons if you do hit one of your 4 outs

I probably would have just called this flop bet even though you have position. I don t really like to build large pots with AK as I find it is a very flop dependant hand. The flop bet was good, as you could have AJ, JJ or an overpair. I would have folded to the raise, min raises in lowstakes game = I ve got a monster. It is making the pot way too big, especially with a flush draw.
I dunno if it was best to push the river, it depends on your read of the player, at these stakes some people just don t fold ever, if he was one of them then pushing is a bad idea. If not, then tough luck.

edit: don t know why i said you have position.

I don't know if a c-bet that flop. I might C/R but more than likely I'll just C/C. You have to give him credit that you're beaten OR simply beating a lesser Ax.

It was only done as a means to mix things up a little.
I'd been at the table for about 40 hands and had been pretty active since I sat down. The cards were really being nice to me but I wasn't showing down a lot of hands. I had a feeling that the villain was getting sick of it, so there was a good chance that he was going to raise me with a wide range of hands.

I really didn't want him to call my PF raise and it just kind of went downhill from there. lol.

Bad play on the flop. While you have the right amount of players to throw out a CB, that is an ugly looking flop for a cb.

You make a big enough bet that people with a flush draw are definetly not getting the pot odds, but implied odds are looking quite attractive. TPTK is a DEFINITE possibility w/ his call on the preflop (especially at this level).

    More after work.
