I would appreciate comments on the following hand. I had been at the table for around 40 hands, but both villains had recently joined (<10 hands), so no reads.
[Hold 'em] (0.25|0.50 No Limit - Cash Game) Real Money
- CO with $36.99
- BB with $71.50
- Hero (UTG) with $34.88
Hero dealt![]()
![]()
Hero called - $0.50
1 fold
CO called - $0.50
2 folds
BB checks
Comments : ok, I've already told myself off for this open limp in EP with a poor hand. A2s is a marginal losing hand for me (as are other low suited aces)- probably due to calling in EP. I'm going to cut this out in future.
Flop (Pot : $1.75) :
![]()
![]()
![]()
BB bets $1
Hero raises to $3
CO calls $3
BB Calls $2
Comments : This is street I think I have a problem with the size of my raise. When BB bet I knew I had to raise due to the flush draw + 2 opponents, but at the same time I didn't want to lose value by them folding.
Turn (Pot : $10.75)
![]()
BB bets $10
Hero Calls $10
CO folds
Comments : I hated this card, especially after BB lead out with a strong bet. I feared he had a FH (33, 55, 45) all possible. However there was more chance of him just having a 4. I just call effectively meaning that I'm calling any bet on the river.
River (pot $31.75)
![]()
BB bet - $11.50
Hero called - $11.50
Comments : Safe card. I was surprised at his smaller bet here - I was happy to just call.

If you are going to raise the flop, raise harder, at least 4X. (which I also would have done). If they hit a boat with the turn 4 then I am going to pay them off - I would have called with the intention of raising the river. I would have raised all in on the river.

A boat would scared me too but, I would have worried someone was holding a 6 or, god forbid, a 67. Slow playing, although I use to love the idea, seams to work our 1 out of 10 times for me, so I would have raised more on the flop. After the turn I would likely have played simularly, called his raises. If I thought I knew him better (u saw < 10 hands), and had a couple extra drinks in me, I may have pushed his turn raise hoping he was on a flush draw or maybe K4 (trips). I suppose much of it has to do with what % of your BR was on this table.
So what did he have?

Only wrong play was PF. Fold it every time.

Thanks for the responses - does anyone else consider pushing the turn?
