I dont have the hand history but I'll try to do the best I can.
$5 rebuy.
300 people left, 180 are ITM.
We're 202 with about 20k.
Avg stack is about 40k.
BB = $1600.
We're in the SB with an M of 7.
We have:
![]()
UTG + 2 (22k in chips) is a solid player whose been playing pretty tight.
MP (66k in chips) is the table CL and has been a little bit of a bully. He's been playing a lot of pots, raising everytime he enters. Seems to really like min raising.
UTG + 2 raises to $4800. MP pushes all in. Hero.......?
Results and Analysis:
I'm not playing this tourney to squeak into the money, I wanted final table. My M is getting low and I need a spot to pick up some chips and I thought this was a good a spot as any. I figured that if UTG+2 actually called, there was a good chance I had 2 overcards to the both of them. If I'm able to isolate MP, I may even have him dominated.
I call.
UTG+2 has QQ
MP has AKos.
Flop comes xxxK............Q.

Instapush. There's gonna be situations where you should be better than even money, like initial raiser has JJ the other QQ. Maybe he laid it down anyways, then you're heads-up and it's even better for you.

Haven't looked at results...I'd have to fold this. Chances are one has a pair...and the other has an A. Hurts your odds and outs and just no need to race right here with both so eager to get thier chips in

I would have folded too, there are too many people playing too aggressively for AK, it is just ace high if you don t hit. You are almost certainly up against a pp, probably jj or qq. If someone else has an A/K you are in trouble.

I fold here, too.
I'm giving UTG+2 credit and just accept that he isn't going anywhere either. MP2's making an obvious isolation move and one of your Aces or Kings are dead.
Pot odds say push, but common sense says that you're less than 50% to be dealt the next hand. This is a personal decision and neither choice is right or wrong.
