So, the mixed game I used to play was modified over a month ago to only be a limit game and instead of 25/50, it's 30/60 now. I went out and sat in it last night. The people who know me know me as a pretty aggressive player and I was playing the Stud orbits pretty fast, moderate in Omaha, and super-tight in Hold 'em because I suck at Hold 'em. So, not sure how I was perceived in Hold 'em by the 1st raiser.
1st raiser was a maniac. An hour ago, he raised and cold-called a capped preflop betting round with QJ and flopped a straight. My caller was a pretty ABC player. Non-imaganitive. We're in full ring (8 handed).
30/60 HOSE (Hold 'em)
I have TT on the button.
Maniac raises 2nd to act. ABC cold-calls. I 3-bet. Blinds fold. Maniac and ABC cold call.
Flop: 4 Q 9 rbw
Maniac and ABC check to me. I bet. They both call.
Turn: 9 that put a diamond draw out there.
Maniac and ABC check. Is there value in betting here?

You have 10's up at the moment. I am not really worried about the Maniac player. They both check/call the flop. ATM I put the ABC player on a straight draw - though his preflop play does not suggest that he would cold call a raise, then call a re-raise w/ somethin glike 10J or 810. However, I don't think he has an overpair either, as he would be raising and re-raising w/ KK/AA. I don't see him playing the 44 preflop either.
Maybe he is getting a BIT out of line w/ 10j because of the maniac.
I throw a value bet out there. I think you have the best hand.TTinthehole (1:11:07 AM): i was gonna raise after littlemissvic limped

2 calls on your flop bet, checked to yuo on turn, you have position, just check and see the cheap showdown. Additionally you may hit your free card if they are slowplaying trip 9s on the turn
I don't see any value in betting unless Maniac would call that bet with something ike A4. You may possibly get ABC to fold JJ but thats about it.
I'd rather let one of them try to bluff on the river, or see a cheap showdown, than possibly be check-raised off the best hand on the turn or check-called all the way down.
Just get to the showdown, no sense putting in the same amount of $$$ and not getting to see the showdown.
MTdemocrat, ABC has something like QKs, JJ, or a monster. There aren't many hands an ABC would flat call a maniac with preflop, get 3 bet and call a flop bet with. I can't imagine he has JTs. If he does I would change his title from ABC to Calling station.Last edited by Steve Ruddock; 10-06-2006 at 05:16 PM.

Wow, I didn't even think of QKs.....
Sometimes I try to get to complex in putting somoene on a hand.
But w/ TP 2nd best kicker, wouldn't he at least lead, why check?TTinthehole (1:11:07 AM): i was gonna raise after littlemissvic limped

it was 3 bet, he's afraid of AQ or an overpair. ABC's like to go into call down mode.
