$33 Deep Stack on Stars. About 3.5 hours into it. Still 190 people left of the 720 entrants, so it's early. Fairly weak-tight table since the last break.
Villian hasn't been out of line or playing a lot of hands, but I've pwned the table as of late, being the dickhead I always am, picking up 6k in the last half hour without showing a hand.
Play the rest of the hand in full. Why are you doing what you're doing? What info are you looking for? When and how are you looking for it?

Deep Stack Hand- Kings and a Goofy Flop

I check turn behind. KK on that board isn't really a hand you want to be playing a big pot with. Call up to 75% pot bet on river, whatever falls.
He may be inclined to bluff (figuring a raiser shouldn't have a 7), he may bet a busted club draw, he may also check down or gay bet a hand like 2 pair/trips with a 1 card straight on board fearing you have it or won't call much if you don't. Basically you can minimise losses when behind and induce bluff when ahead.
I check river even if he checks to me just because a hand like flopped 2 pair may not be too crazy on that board and decide to check-call river.
Guess as you want to play SLAG showing down KK here won't hurt your image either.

Agreed.
At this point I either have opponent on a FD, or has a 9 for the OESD.
So therefore, on the turn your either way ahead or way behind to his straight.
So I check behind on turn to keep the pot small and to effectively minimize my losses against the straight. This also induces a bluff from a broken FD on the river or a bet from a weaker holding (say AT) thinking that his hand is still ahead. I will then flat call a river bet as long as its a non-club card - If it is, then I check-fold unless the bet is really small (1200 or less).
If u bet the turn, then villian is dropping most hands that you beat (AT, FD) and your only going to get called or raised if ur beat a majority of the time.
If villian decides to check to me again on a blank river. Then I know that my hand is still ahead and therefore I will proceed to value bet the river with a 1/3rd - 2/5th ps bet (folding to a raise).Last edited by Eclipse86; 09-30-2006 at 07:43 PM.

I'm guessing that Alex bet 1666 and folded to a raise. He can't stop betting at a pot once he starts..
Leave the gun... Take the canoli.

I would bet the turn, fire another $2000. I doubt he has a 9 as you raised pf, and he seemed pretty solid. I would put him on QJ with one club, or QQ, JJ. If he calls that, check the river, or call a 50% pot sized bet.

I bet the pot on the flop, then proceed as Eclipse says (nice analysis Eclipse!
)
Alternative would be to check-raise the flop

Nothin' like a woman who stands by her man, right, guys?
Anyway, I usually PM myself these hands in full before posting, but I think I deleted it clearing my inbox. OK, because I remember it like the back of my hand.
I checked the turn.

Against a donk I check behind. I've seen way too many donks who fail to bet the nuts on the river oop (he could've been on a FD). Additionally, he could have a straight of course. There's a few freak hands such as A4 that we might chase away with a bet, but I really dont think they matter

ick
check behind on the turn. keep the pot small. a 9 makes a straight, and hes not folding any pair+ draws (lots of which are out there) plus if you bet a smart player might push, knowing you cant call unless you have a 9. just check behind and hope to induce bluffs on the river. you are probably calling a river bet.
betting the turn also prolly gets many hands you beat to fold.
when you check the turn, you can value bet these hands on the river (AT will call a small 1/3ish pot bet)

Check river behind and type "nice slowplay lol" when he shows his flush.
