Default Do I feel like racing here?

$4 / 180 person SNG on stars. About 40 people are left (18 are ITM, for those that don't know) and the average chip stack is just over 6k.

It seems like almost everyone at the table is weak tight. Everyone is playing really straight forward poker and no one seems to fight very hard for the pots they enter. I've been card dead for awhile but have managed to build a stack by playing small ball poker and stealing all the little pots that no one seems to want.

I don't know what the button was thinking.....I guess he figured he was racing. He hadn't really done anything stupid that I had noticed so I'm 99% sure he would have folded had I called. UTG + 1 has exactly what I thought he did. Typical TA opponent.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (9 handed)

    Hero (t4315)
    MP2 (t1856)
    MP3 (t1130)
    CO (t7465)
    Button (t4655)
    SB (t1874)
    BB (t5075)
    UTG (t2123)
    UTG+1 (t3330)

    Preflop: Hero is MP1 with , .
    1 fold, UTG+1 raises to t3305, 4 folds, Button raises to t4630, 2 folds.

    Flop: (t8110) , , (2 players)

    Turn: (t8110) (2 players)

    River: (t8110) (2 players)

    Final Pot: t8110

    Results in white below:
UTG+1 has Kc Ac (high card, ace).
Button has Kh Qh (high card, king).
    Outcome: UTG+1 wins t8110.

You could def call, however it's not gonna win more than a few Sklansky chips, since you almost certainly will be about a coinflip to win. I just cant him see pushing tens here. Another problem is someone might be behind you with queens or better. I think I'd fold too

if someone pushes before me i fold with jacks in this position, only because i wanna open this hand with a raice, 600-900 if i get calld and an ace king or queen hits , i probably check down, flop like this i push 3 times a week and 4 times on sunday to even out to 7

Do you really think someone who open pushes AK won't also so that with a hand like 77-TT?

Any time I would open push AK like that in a tournament I would also push 77+. Namely when I have about 8bb or less.

    no
they will limp with this hand in fear of a greater hand in more late position

but if its open in late position i push with the hands you mentioned

the 77-1010 push ep is -ev IMO

but you do say a good point about the 8bb < , indeed a good push otherwise limp for set value or play in position

AK should be a lot stronger since it's only dominated by aces. Any big stack with tens or better might (should?) call.

But nevertheless a very interesting point you make, what to do with 77+ in that spot.

I dont know what kind of calls you want to see though, apart from AK/AQ I dont see many that you like.
