There was about 13 people left in this 180 $4 sng, action was getting pretty intence before the final table. Alot of all-ins at this point. I had been shortstacked a couple times already and just doubled up 2 hands before this with K8o (pushing UTG) sucking out a KQs. The villian had already caught me once about 40 mins before this on a big bluff by calling me down after I fired 2 big bullets and then pushing all-in on the river (forcing me to fold). With the range of hands I had been raising with he could have put me as low as 10s or AJs. I was very hesitant to call this because I felt there was at least a 30-40% chance he had Kings or Aces. But I think he might have made this play with any AK, QQ (unlikly) or JJ and maybe even AQs. It wasnt like this guy was a total rock so I think it was hard to get away here with the queens. But maybe Im not looking at the bigger tournament picture, if I fold Im still 8-9 place. However if I won the pot I would have been in 3rd place going into the final table.

With 14bbs and QQ-99, I'll either push or make a small raise (2.5x) to fold to a large push. You were in-between. You made a monstrous raise that committed yourself to the pot with your raise, so I don't see how you can fold this because you could easily have the best hand with a lot of chips in the pot.
What your ridonkulous raise accomplishes is nothing more than a raise to around 2900-3200 would. Either way, you're hitting the brakes to an Ace or a King and you'll have a better way to gauge where you're at. I doubt Aces or Kings pushes your small raise, but JJ-99, AK, and AQ are almost always pushing to this raise.
Your big raise expanded Villian's pushing range in the wrong direction, so I don't see how you can lay this dow with the little read you had. Why you thought he was making a play is beyond me. Nothing about your raise looks like a play and there's no re-steal without a steal. Your raise says, "If you got Aces or Kings, you got action." to me.
EDIT: I just woke up. I missed the limper. I'd raise to 3100-3200 to take the lead. After a limper and a raise, I doubt the BB will make a play at this. If he's making a play, you've only seen 2 cards. You've lost little. No problem with dumping it. With around 20k in the pot, QQ is hard to get away from with only 13k to call.

Thanks Alex,
I agree, I raised too much. At the time I was hoping with my fairly agressive table image I might get someone to come over top of me with a 10s-JavaScript or AQ. I really need to try and concentrate more in these final stages of the tourny. I think my problem is my mind starts to fatigue by this stage, should have grabbed a coffie and woke up more during the break.Last edited by Auto; 09-19-2006 at 05:25 PM.
