MP was pretty tight. I haven't seen any of his cards. I've seen him push once with 1k and everyone folded with the blinds at 75/150.
UTG was limping and folding the whole time. No question about my fold% on him.

Hell No, Can I Fold This or Just Limp, Right?

Just complete for set value. Since everybody is short-stacked esp MP1) this push doesn't make any sense. In the worst case he has something like 66 and you're a huge dog

MP has to call that's for sure. He'll be crippled if he doesn't and he's getting ok odds. Also occassionally UTG might be trapping or BB has a big hand.
The question is: Would you call if MP had pushed already? If no then I think the push is no good eitherLast edited by OrionPro; 09-15-2006 at 05:25 PM.

I have not played many tournaments, but I read HoH II in one setting last night and i have played all of my tournaments while talking through hands with you alex. Here's my line - you have to push here.
Here's why:
1. Your M is less than 6. You can't really wait around for a better hand.
2. Your not going to double up, BUT you have MP1 covered. If he does flip over a monster, you might be able to get back into things with a little bit of luck.
3. You are in a bad spot anyway. Even if you take all of MP's money, you are still the shortstack. Pushing against any other stack I think is going to be detrimental. They can afford to sit around and wait for a good sized hand.
4. You can't complete. Your M is WAY too low. You can't afford to complete and and have all over cards flop (which is very possible), face a CB and get pushed off dropping your M even lower.
5. MP1 is even more shortstacked than you are and in an even worse spot. The blinds are coming around again to him quickly. He will be down to around t700 afterwards. I feel like he is pushing to get a free round. He's been tight, so he may expoloiting his image.
All in all. You need chips. 5's may be your best shot. It's doubtful you are a 4-1 leader, best sit. you have a coinflip.
I could be completely wrong.TTinthehole (1:11:07 AM): i was gonna raise after littlemissvic limped

The idea of pushing is first-in vigorish. Harrington clearly emphasizes that. Here there's already 2 in the pot, one short-stacked so no FE whatsoever.
Maybe a coinflip is good enough here, I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure folding or completing is not a big mistake at least.

I ran it through SNGPT assuming MP had already pushed and ignoring UTG. Then it's a good call, since we have to put MP on a wide range of limping hands. Then again his limping behind doesn't make any sense, so it's not impossible he has aces or kings and is scared of not getting enough chips in case he pushes.
So I was probably wrong, but I still think that folding or completing is ok tooLast edited by OrionPro; 09-15-2006 at 05:54 PM.
