We're in the mid-stages of this MTT. 85 people left of the 1488 entrants. Deep Stack tourney on Stars. We've been going 8 hours and bear in mind before you flame anything I did, if you'd like to do so, that it's 5AM and I'm drunk.
First off, I was gonna re-pop before the flop, but SB's call was weird to me OOP with me behind him and I was doing a lot of re-stealing, so with 2 opponents, I elected to take a flop.
I really like this flop, but willing to fold to any raise on the flop. SB was giving me a lot of respect since I called him down with QQ and took a nice pot. What are your thought on how to approach this hand as a whole and why?

Difficult hand. I'm trying to see a cheap showdown the way you played it. Without reraising PF, I think I'd play mostly for set value here.

I would fold, there are just too many hands that you are behind to. He may have made a flush, may have a jack, or a set (though 2s or 3s seems strange).

I call here and see how the river looks.

On second thought, fold. I think he's got KJ or QJ here because I think AJ would reraise. The nut flush draw is a possibily too because people love to chase.

The turn bet puzzles me most. Unless he has a high spade himself, he's not playing the hand well since any high spade Alex might have is getting the odds to call that small turn bet.

The small bet makes me think he is trying to keep you around. I think you are beat.

Keeping in mind the levels I play at, he played this the way a typical donk would play Axs (spades). The preflop and flop call fits (as most donks don't know or don't care about pot odds.) The turn bet screams that he wants you to call or raise. Judging by your play (you passed an opportunity for a squeeze play), SB is either a donk, or a great player. These are the two types of players that a squeeze doesn't work against.
Of course there is another explanation... AQs or AKs. If he had these of spades, he might not have cared if you repopped preflop. It would explain the flop call (FD plus 2 overs gives him 15 outs which is plenty given the pot odds on the flop). Turn bet, of course, is still screaming for a call or a raise.
Overall, I think you are beaten by a flush or (much less likely) an overpair.I study at KRE8R's School of Bankroll Management.
