10 person/$5 SNG.
Button is a tight, solid player. We can probably put him on 99+ (maybe 77+) and AJ+ (with a small chance of a button steal.) I wanted to re-raise to see where I was at and at first instinct was willing to let the hand go if the villain came over the top.
Villain comes over the top me and I go into the tank. Suddenly I realised (and I should have realised this before my first raise) that I'm getting a good price at just over 2 to 1. Couple that with the fact that it just felt like a big ace and I decided to call against my initial instinct.

88 in the SB vs Raise from the Button (5 handed)

Though you don't want to give courtesy double ups, this smells like AK or a pair that's usually smaller than your 8's and you have the chips. It's only 810 to call and you still have a nice stack if you lose to take people out and be positionally aggressive. I like your re-raise, but heads up against the button, I'd prefer to push and put the heat on him.

no call PF for sure... I reraise... probably all in.
450 will make the pot almost 1000 chips and you opponent will only have 900 remaining, so he will push alomost any flop with anything he is willing to call with.
+if he reraise, you'll have to call
+ if he dosent push the flop, it means he is clearly beaten. Wich makes your move a lot less profitable than a push IMO.
I think both strategy could be dfended, but I definately dont like a call OOP here.
