Very first hand of a SNG, no reads. Now if you ignore the fact that this is a $5 sng, was this a proper fold? I think I was a bit unlucky that the turn was a diamond and the board didnt pair.

I'm wondering just what 'donky' you're refering to - your villian played both hands correctly and the first one superbly!!

Take heart thou since if you were never bluffed you would be calling too often and if bluffed too often you would be folding too often! In this hand you were getting 2.6-1 to call on the river and would still have 2/3 of your starting stack if you lost but you wanted to keep him honest. However, if you were convinced he had the flush, you have to fold and save the chips! Your villian made a superb bet on the turn that not only resulted in you folding the best hand but cut you off from betting a higher amount (defensive bet) while he was still on the draw!! This guy is no donky!
2nd hand - Top pair two pair on the board - tell me you wouldn't play it the same way - Wait! You sort of did with the hidden top pair and bottom pair! Except for that duece pair on the flop you would have been blown out of the water! You got lucky and he didn't - no donky suckout here!
It is sometime difficult to give proper respect for your opps when so many of them are donks - but please, for the sake of your own game, give this guy more respect for 1st having outplayed you and 2nd for getting his all his/your chips in when he was sure he had the best hand!

Ok here are the villians sharkscope stats:
Username Games Played Av. Profit Av. Stake Av. ROI Total Profit
AM2001 36 -$3.85 $9 -43% -$139
After the first hand I looked him up... looked like a donator to me. Ill admit he made a nice play on the turn, but his play only worked because I had no read on him. Had I known he was a donky it would have been a easy river call. After the first 10-15 hands this guy proved himself to be extreamly laggy, hence why I slowplayed the kings (which I normally never do). He isolated himself for me... it was great. But comon, he had to know once I check raised him on the turn he was beat. And no I wouldnt of played that hand like that because I would have folded pf. Q6o.. yuck.
I stand by my fold in the first hand, I dont mind playing it safe in that situation. I doubt his play make him money in the long run, especially when he stupid enough to show his bluff to me afterwards.Last edited by Auto; 09-07-2006 at 07:58 PM.
