first hand at final table of RTR FR on Betfair......my usual point where i fall apart and make a balls of things......i miss limit so much![]()
stacks arent showing in HH but i had 20k and button had big CL.....rest of us were fairly even.
blinds were 400/800 with 100 ante
id played part of tourney with button who on one hand seemed to be a decent player but id seen him make some dodgy pf calls with Ax and he loved his little suited connectors........he also had a colourful history of having a stab at a pot if checked to him(which worked very well when he was directly to my left at earlier table) and folding to reasonable sized flop bet.
do i actually want him betting here if i check to him?
can i call him if he does?
what shoulda happened here? can the mistakes be counted on one hand? (or my personal feeling now, on one finger?)

Don't know if you lost this hand, but if so, you could've lost a lot of less. Checking the flop is bad because this where you take control of the pot.
PF- I'm raising it to t2000-t2400.
Flop- I'm betting about 3200 on the flop, heads up. No way a King , two pair, or a set isn't raising you here. You're OOP, so if you only get a call, you can figure FD or worse Queen. He calls.
Turn- You can bet 4800 to this turn. Very few have the balls to not raise with anything that you can beat, but I don't mind checking for pot control either. He'll get over-anxious to get value on a flush if he has it and check a King in fear of getting raised- or check the turn with a flush to get you to bite on the river. I'm pretty much done with this hand when the spade hits with second pair.
River, if he checks behind on the turn- Again, I don't see someone betting behind you with a hand that you beat. We've already established that you had the best hand on the flop. With any hand that beats you, thanks to the turn (because the River doesn't change much. It's a fairly insignificant card to Villian), you'll make a decision on a minute bet. A lot of times, Villan will bet the min. to induce a bluff, but most times, you'll face about 2/3 of the pot at the least or nothing.

A very difficult hand to play, with the button bullying the table.
I'd prolly follow Alex' advice and raise less PF.
The flop is horrible, since he will call with the shittiest king if he has one.

AQ, KQ, and AJ are pretty difficult hands in the front. You have a nice stack and some would say tha tyou can afford to fold in the front and be conservative until the table gets shorter. I wouldn't do this, but I'm not looking to play any big pots either. What the rest of the table was like, I don't know, and this would be a huge factor as to how I approach this situation.
But I stick to what I said originally knowing what I know. I don't like the way you played this postflop, but this hand's been in my head and there are a lot of options and paths you can follow. Very interesting hand.
