Too aggressive as usual? I really thought there was a chance I had the best hand putting my opponent on Tx / 6x.

2 things you did wrong:
1) Your kicker was crap. You put too much faith in just having the high match
The other thing you did wrong is that the way you were playing the hand up to the river...you were representing a considerable amount of power. If I had been sitting at that table watching you bet that way, I'd have put your ass on a suited 10-J. If you would have pushed once the river came down, you probably could have scared this guy off. Granted, he might have been a putz and called you...but all things considered the way that hand went down, a smart player woulda went running for the hills if he doesn't have a read on your habits.

I realise my kicker was crap. The only reason I played the hand this aggressively is because of my OESD and the fact that I put my opponent on a draw as well.
I think my biggest mistake here wasn't checking the turn.

You're aggression on the flop bought you a free card on the turn..........and you didn't take it. That was your mistake as I see it. But thats coming from a limit player.

I don't really see how this is a bad thing, if I'm playing this hand I'm perfectly happy with a fold on the flop or turn.

You miss my point. I was saying he could have bought that hand once the river came down. There were 2 ways he could play it but what he tried to do was try to mix the 2 ways. That being, represent power and push the opponent out of the hand or else playing passive and taking the free cards.

If he had just checked all the way through--yeah, he woulda lost still, but it wouldn't have been as painful. Either way would have been better.

So you're saying that one of my mistakes here wasn't putting him all in on the river? He had about $300 left, you really think he would fold? It's also worth mentioning that this is the $4/180 person SnG on stars so the chance that this guy would lay down TPTK on any street is pretty slim.

Ahhh....4 dollars. Never mind. When I do these hand evaluations I just instinctively assume that they're dollar values I would play live. The only way I can compute it. Nobody cares about 4 dollars. Bluffing doesn't work there.
In that case, ya still screwed up, but you only had one way to play it--that being, taking the free cards and hoping to score a mild hit against him.
