Early in a 9 man SnG.... no reads on the villian in the SB.
I limp with KQ, UTG+1, and call the small blinds raise since Im in position for the rest of the hand.
Flop top pair, decent kicker.... he bets, I raise. He just calls me. Now Im thinking he has 1010 or JJs.
Turn looks like a blank... he checks. I bet out a value bet thinking I have the best hand at this point. And then he quickly pushes all-in....
...at this point I no longer think my hand is good, I feel like I have been setup. But Im getting like 4.25 to 1 odds to call... I just thought it was too painful to fold with so much commited already. So I called hoping by chance he is bluffing and my Qs are still good...
I dont see how I get away from this, other then not calling pf... but I was in position, thought it was a ok call there.
What do you guys think about this situation?

Teh way you explain it seem you cant get out of the hand, but when you look at the hand history its an other ball game.
The did'nt min bet the flop... he made a half pot bet... and you pot raised him!!! Then he called!!!! We already have a 38BB pot on the flop... and we have only top pair 2nd best kicker...
I dont see how we can bet that turn. We already know we are beaten... and we still have an M of 30!! not bad... no need to to go almost broke...
Take the free card on turn and fold the river unless he gives you insane odds to call.

...
yeah... sorry, I typed "he min bets".... even though I meant to say "he bets".
But even so, your telling me that you think we are beat when he just calls my flop raise and then just checks turn?
I don't think its as easy to put him KK in this spot, especailly when it is a $10 buyin which is flooded with players who love to overplay PP with one over.
***Edit***
- ok I thought about a little more..... checking turn does look to be a smarter play, but if he bets up to 400 on the river I probaly have to call. Which means I probaly could of saved about 15 BB.Last edited by Auto; 07-28-2006 at 12:16 PM.

This pot has gotten way out of control for TP and a King kicker 9 handed in an SnG. I like the flop raise because you don't wanna be on the call. I don't think the guy's balls enough to call the flop and bet the river with a hand that he'd raise PF and call your flop raise with less than KQ. Even QJ gets a bit timid here.
