lol, I wrote down an answer for PL until I realized this was limit, didn't think people played limit high omaha

Anyway, nothing you can do here you had the nuts and big draws until the river, but they had the odds to call you down. With 24 small bets in preflop no one is going to fold to 1 or 2 bets on the flop and again you can't get people to fold getting 20:1 odds on the turn.

This is O8b, not limit high - I also had the nut flush draw and nut low draw, which of course didn't hit.

played perfectly, just unfortunate you got sucked out on AND couldn't hit one of your other draws. you jammed it the whole way, which you have to do here... almost impossible for you to not get any of the pot, but this was just one of those times

I dont think it was that bad a beat considering its omaha.
Three of a kind and two pair rarely win the high ~_~.
Its a shame the board didnt pair on the river.

the fact that he didnt get any of this pot was, in fact, an awful beat

I was thinking it may be because I flopped top set, nut fush draw and nut low draw and got nothing. But what do I know - I'm still learning the game.

Why?

There was no low and the guy was drawing to a straight.
Its not that bad a beat, ok I admit the opponent is stupid but still, three of a kind doesnt hold up often in omaha.

He didnt have 3 or a kind rock head.

He had top set, nut flush draw and not low draw and got beating by some moron drawing to 3rd nut flush and donking into a runner runner straight the final card being a two outer.

Equity on the flop was HUGE.

Why call his river bet?
You are beaten so horribly here its obvious.

You also didnt raise enough on the turn to take the pot down right there.

Its alright looking at the cards and saying "terrible beat" but lets look at the actual play.

I'm hands up admitting the other play was terrible and donked it but Gireviks play is awful.

Firstly, aiming for the low here is bad, your so easily counterfeited, an ace or a two and you've lost the low.

Preflop: I'm calling, but not raising. This is O8b, I want to scoop not take either half the pot, unless its multiway.

Flop: You have top set and some good draws, your play here is ok.

Turn: Theres no low yet, you have the nut low draw, but your also easily counterfeitted. You have the current nut high, however the board is now dangerous, if another high card comes and he's going for the high, you have almost certainly lost, you bet far too weakly here, I would have raised to the maximum, if he wants to see the river he is paying every single cent I can make him.

River: I would strongly suspect I was beaten here. Any card seven and over makes a possible straight unless it pairs the board. I just would not pay the guy off with top set, if I thought I was beat, if you think you are ahead, then you need to raise here.

Calling is the wrong move most of the time, in both hold'em and omaha when its heads up. You let the guy freeroll you by betting 0.50 on the turn and then checking the river, you should have bet very strongly on the turn when you were still the favourite.

He raised on the flop and you reraised him, but only for $0.25, the turn improved his chances again and again you let him in with a weak bet.

This was bad play, not a bad beat.
Sorry if that comes across as harsh, but we are here to improve our poker, not pat each other on the back when we make a bad play and instead complain about a beat.

That said, if I make a foul play in any of my posted hands I want the same critique.
