Default 2 bad beats

i was playin $3/6 hold'em last night and had acouple horrible beats....

i got 8h 9c flop comes 6d 7h 10s (2 other players in the hand)

im first to act....i bet $3...next guy raises....next guy calls...i re raise..they both call..

turn= 2d i bet $6...first guy folds..next guy raises..i re raise and he calls

river=kd... the last card i wanted to see...i bet $6 he raises i call... he flips over 5d jd for a flush......did i play this hand right? i just started playin limit poker, i usually just play tournament style no limit at home games.

ok i was gettin short stacked maybe $30 left...i pick up AK in the small blind and raise it to $6...get 2 callers..

flop... 2d 3c 7h

i bet $3 ...1 guy calls..

turn Kd (im thinkin nice i hit top pair with top kicker)

i bet $6 and he raises me so i raise him back so im all in...

i show him AK..he flips over A4 off suit

river...5h...gives him a straight

i dont think i play enough hands....im used to nl and dont play many hands... whats some good advice for playin limit poker??? thanks

Thank you for the intelligent post. If you can't play limit, you can't play poker. You don't have to enjoy it, but not being able to play a game is a real detriment to your overall game.

Why have this closed minded attitude? It does you no good.

I was advising him to play where he's comfortable, and where he has most experience if he wants to win.

i feel fine playin limit...won 3 out of 4 times..i dont really bluff(i need to start doin that alittle just to mix thigns up)...when i go to the river i have a good hand, i went to the river 6 times...i lost the 2 hands on the river...i hit 2 pair with KQ and a guy had a set of kings..then the other 3 hands i won, i know i cant get unlucky every time, if i wasnt playin limit i would bet enough for them to fold, i love playin hold'em(L or NL) i could sit there all day and play.. i just asked for alittle advise on how i should differ my play from NL..

he called you a troll. Haha.
YOu played the hand well. obviously this guy was trying to lose and got lucky. capping it like that is good on flop turn. on 1st hand.

2nd. maybe chek the flop. K turn i gotta cap and assume your good.

This is a problem with limit, you cant really get people off of hands. Ill say: stick to game that you win most. if its NL play NL, imo all that matters is winning $ franly i dont care if you suck at some games and are good @ others. win now, and work on improving other aspects as your winning.

the reason i didnt check the flop in the second hand was because i didnt have much money left and was gonna try and scare some people out or if they did call maybe get lucky and catch a pair for K or A..i watch a ton of poker on tv and thats where ive learned alot
