2nd one maybe i should have folded preflop. Figured anyone with an A was calling the flop just didn't expect to get called by K9.

lol I just put that as the title of the thread because of the recent Phil Hell bashing that has been taking place on the forums. I would never say that because you cant win much if you don't get lucky in the first place.

Very untrue, when I get lucky and put my money in with the worst of it and win I become very pissed.

Why do you get pissed, because you made a bad play or read? I used to think that you could win based purely on skill and skill alone. I have learned that isn't true. You will win most with skill, but you do have to have some luck to win.

but you dont want to rely on luck. luck is like a little bonus. however imo, luck is when i hit Ahigh flush and he has K high flush.

I'm not implying that I rely on luck to win. I don't ever want to have to rely on luck to win but sometimes you need to. I wish it were 100% skill, but I've realized it just isn't and sometimes you need a little luck to win. If it were 100% skill we wouldn't have all these fish playing because a lot of them win on luck. I guess I should be thankful that luck is part of the game!

You should only rely on luck when you have a draw, or if you are in a tight spot and have to go all in with something like QJ off suit, or if you are the chip leader and you call a short stack and he has you dominated.

You shouldn't rely on luck when you call under the gun with A 7 with like 2 other players calling.

The first hand you can't really blame either player for what they did. Although I might question the QJ call before the flop. But thats what you get for playing online.

I never said I was relying on luck for playing A7s UTG, I said it was a loose call and I probably should have folded. I never said I rely on lucky to win. All I said is that you need some luck to win sometimes. The luck I am talking about is to win coinflip situations and maybe to catch a card for a straight of flush but only when you have proper odds. If I had to rely on luck I wouldn't play poker.
