Default defenition of bad beat?

I was playing earlier and this is what happened.

I'm in a good position 4 players left I'm only slightly chipleader STT.

Me 5000
SB 3500

dealt 1010 on button, sb raises 200 i call flop K1010. I decided to SP and checked he raises all in, of course I call quads 10's nice hand.

He turns over AK

Turn: A River: K

My quad 10's beats his KKKAA FH.

unlucky onhis part i thought but really all in with another pair on the board was bold move and a risky one. he was raising everything in the game anyway.

I said UL on the chat, only polite, and it was unlucky. then another guy on the chat types oh bad beat. it annoyed be slightly because of course i'm going to call with quad tens!!!

To me a bad beat is what always seems to happen to me where I go all AA and some muppet calls with 56OS and catches a straight.

So, am i mistaken in my understanding iof bad beat? and does the above hand playered earleier today qualify as a bad beat? I just think it was unlucky.

I'd be delighted if someone would clear this up.

its not a bad beat at all, you had him beat from preflop all the way to the end.... never in this hand was he ever ahead.... especially having a 1% or less chance postflop of winning the hand

That isn't any where near a bad beat.

Here is a bad beat.

You have AA - flop is 7 9 4, idiots sets you all-in, and he flips over 23 turn is a 2, river is a 3.

The guy was almost drawing dead when all the money went in, not a bad beat.

to be a bad beat, the person who lost had to actually be ahead at ANY POINT IN THE HAND... he was behind before the flop by 4-5% he was a 99-1 dog on the flop, and he was drawing dead afterwards.... this is one of the few cases in online poker where the favorite hand holds up, which i guess might be considered an online bad beat
