Greetings Guys and Gals,
We at NoBadBeatsPoker.com are thrilled to announce to you the upcoming launch of our premiere game concept No Bad Beats Poker. We are here at PokerForums.org for your support and questions, so please let us know by post or email if you need anything. An Introduction below:
Scheduled for beta-release on Sunday, January 16th, No Bad Beats Poker is a revolutionary new feature in online poker designed to protect players from bad beats, suck outs, and bad luck. Outplay your opponents and build your bankroll. You’ll get your money back if you take a bad beat!
How does the concept work? Simple. While playing games such as NL Hold’em, No Bad Beats Poker tracks the win percentage of each player, similar to thosedisplayed during televised poker tournaments. If an unlucky player loses despite having a high enough win percentage, they’ll qualify for a bad beat in All-In situations. Any player that takes a qualifying bad beat will get their money refunded from the pot, effectively overturning the bad beat.
Available exclusively for play at www.nobadbeatspoker.com, No Bad Beats Poker is the perfect solution for players tired of losing monster pots due to bad beats in All-In situations. Instead of losing your money and smashing your keyboard, you’ll keep your bankroll intact and your sanity in check!
We recommend you visit our website to see how the concept works in detail. However, the only way to truly grasp the intricacies of No Bad Beats Poker is to play it. That’s why we’re hosting an NBB Beta-Launch Freeroll tournament this Sunday, January 16th, for all players to try the new concept and win cash prizes with no deposit required. We will also have limited NBB Sit-n-Go’s, NBB Ring Games, and NBB play money tables available in beta-release starting January 16th, along with many standard poker games on the fast-growing Everleaf Poker Network.
I’d like to address a few anticipated concerns. I’ve had the privilege to play No Bad Beats Poker for fun and during testing. While playing I’ve personally noted the following observations, which I’m confident you’ll find when you play:
- Standard betting, continuation bets, chasing, and basic poker strategy in NBB Poker do NOT differ significantly from standard poker. You’ll be playing the same games with the same rules of play. Because only the most infuriating of bad beats are overturned, most hands played are no different than conventional poker.
- Bluffing remains a fundamental part of the game, and in fact, bluffing All-In may occur MORE frequently… for reasons you’ll understand when you play it this weekend.
- The Games are NOT nittier! In fact, some players push all-in more frequently to ensure bad beat protection. This creates MORE action, with the opportunity for crafty players to stack unwise opponents.
- There is still plenty of GAMBOOOOOL! With only the most infuriating of Bad Beats overturned, the game has as much gamble and excitement as standard poker.
We’re proud of No Bad Beats Poker, and believe you’ll be impressed when you try it. It’s a fascinating evolution of poker. Unlike some joke sites I’ve seen flamed here in the past, we hope to be the exception. Before jumping to conclusions, please join us on Sunday, January 16th for the official Beta-Release & NBB Launch Freeroll tournament to try the new concept with no deposit required.
No Bad Beats Poker is ideal for intensely competitive poker players, as well as discouraged players who need a break from stomach-turning bad beats and bad luck in standard poker. We hope you’ll consider us as a complement to playing on your favorite standard poker sites, and we appreciate your support as our player pool grows from startup.
Sincerely,
Aaron – Representative of No Bad Beats Poker

I don't understand the money back for a bad beat. I shove allin and OP hits a 4outer to win a $5 pot. How much do I get back?

When playing No Bad Beats Poker, you'll get your money refunded from the pot if you take a bad beat. It comes out of the pot. In No Bad Beats Poker, the lucky fool hitting the 4 outer doesn't get the entire pot. He only gets the remainder of the pot.
Below is an example scenario of a NBB Poker hand posted on our website: http://www.nobadbeatspoker.com/bin_i....pdf?lng_iid=2&

This is an interesting concept. Is this a US friendly site? If so, what are the suggested ways for a US player to deposit. Are there play money tables available to test the bad beat software?
Are there different bad beat thresholds at different tables? A 70% equity threshold seem a bit high to me, something like 75% seems a bit more reasonable. For example, I've seen solid semi-bluffs that unexpectedly end up against sets, the play itself was fine though it resulted in a bad beat.
How much is actually returned to the "victim"? In the rules I read it stated the pot (which is harsh), but in the example you provided it looked to be a split pot (which seems reasonable).Last edited by KnightofNarg; 01-15-2011 at 11:35 AM.

Yes, we are open to US players.
For US players, I recommend you start with Visa Debit Card or Bank Wire. If banks are not cooperating, then I highly recommend Western Union at a nearby grocery store/gas station. I just heard from somebody who used Western Union to deposit $800 cash. His money arrived on the site in just over an hour. He said, "It did cost $13 fee for that big purchase, but not dealing with a bank... priceless." I am sure smaller purchases will have much smaller fees.
Yes, each NBB table or tournament will have a different posted Bad Beat Cutoff %, which is noted in the table description. Then players can choose which seems right for them. Some players may be interested in a BBC% of 80.0% or higher, which makes bad beats somewhat rare. Other players may like 60.0% to make things interesting and really protect their hands. Myself, I like tables with a 70.0% cutoff (seems about right to me), but we'll soon see what becomes most popular.
For the launch tomorrow most BB cutoff %'s are in the 60.0% and 70.0% range. However, I will get some 80.0% and 90.0% tables added for you guys on Monday. The Freeroll tournament tomorrow will be at a 70.0% BB Cutoff %, so you can gauge your preference based on that.
Victims get their money back! Any player that takes a qualifying bad beat will get his money refunded from the pot, effectively overturning the bad beat. The winning player that sucked out (the high hand) then gets the remainder of the pot. So with two players, it's basically a chop. With more than two players, the high hand usually gets more than half (blinds and other player's wagers).
Please let me know what wording confused you on the website about the pot. We want to make sure things are clear as possible. Have fun at the launch tomorrow!

100% deposit bonus up to $600 using code: NBBonus. Also offering 40% rakeback, which you can email rakeback @ nobadbeatspoker.com for details.
Also just to clarify, our poker room does offer standard poker tables on the shared Everleaf Poker Network with nice bonuses and promotions. But if you ever need a break from stomach-turning bad beats, then our No Bad Beats tables and tournaments will be available as a nice alternative or refuge. Enjoy!
