At lower level poker, you do get a lot of people that just see an Ace and are willing to go a long way with it - if it's suited a lot of them like to go all in preflop. I've had it happen to me a lot of the time, but I've also been able to take a lot (for that level) off of people by altering my play. Instead of playing my hole cards, I play the player (this may be a bit risky in an SnG) If I'm playing at a table that is quite weak, I will raise with pretty much any hand and then play them on the flop. This way if I hit on the flop then excellent, if I miss and I know I can bluff the player I do that, if I miss or hit but he's betting stronger than I'm happy with I can fold and not lose much, but in the end I will always win more than I lose and I'd try and avoid going all in.
Now it may seem like a donkish play raising with any 2 cards, but you have the same chance of hitting on the flop as with any other hand, and also, your pair/2 pair is usually much easier to throw away if you hit, than say a pair of Aces or top 2 pair. Also, your table image will make people much more likely to call your bets with junk and you'll get a lot more value for your good hands. It's a lot easier to do this if you've got a good roll, as you can have your flopped 3oak suck out to a flush on the river when the other guy pushes you all in, but you shouldn't end up in that situation too often as you should have finished 95% of your hands before a showdown (either by folding, bluffing, or betting strongly with the best hand)
This works at any level, as long as you have the bankroll management for this, and yes people may be on to your strategy, but until they hit a hand your flop & potentially your turn bet (if you think they're only calling as they know you're loose) will pretty much always get them out. The only way to defend against this type of play is by having a good run of cards, or coming up against someone with a bigger bankroll who is willing to try and out bluff you. btw, you should never use this play at a 10 man table - keep it to 4-6 players, as the more players there are, the more likely someone will have something.
PS. The A,Q vs 2,2 - not much you could do about that. Also, as online poker isn't as random as actual live poker (as online's programming is structured to odds, whereas live is not) and also there are a lot more hands played in online poker that effect yours odds, you can experience a high percentage of suck outs in a short space of time, but can also experience a lot of "dry" periods at others.
