My new favourite saying.
I was running like a god in the $8 freezeout on FT but so was the big stack who i got involved in this pot with, funny thing was i went to the shop accross the road and came back to find my self in this hand staring at pocket Q's and a nice flop....this is how it turned out.

Brutal. I don't know if you can really fold the river. He's on a busted flush draw more than he has an 8... if he does have an 8, most of the time it's going to be a flush draw that caught a lucky runner-runner. Prior to that river, you might be worried about two pair, given all the limping preflop, but he probably wouldn't be shoving those hands on that river - the turn would be more likely.
Calling your flop raise with a gutshot on that board is so, so bad though... especially since he'll go broke to 98 a lot of the time if he does hit the straight. Oh well, it's $8+0.80, what can you do?

Moral of the story? Believe in your gut feelings, fold on the river! When an obvious straight or 2 pair or trips waiting for a killing is staring back at you and you've the feeling you've lost the plot with your QQ, live to fight another hand is what I always say even if it was down to "a chip and a chair". Then again, easier said than done as I have seen so many people fall into this! You had everything to lose while the big stack could weather whatever you put up against him. I would try not to engage the big blind unless I was positively sure I had him beat.

I'm sorry but it's a limped, multi-way pot on a board of 24567. Stacking off with just QQ there is pretty bad imo.

Oh, cool, so long as you know.
TBH it all went wrong for you the instant you auto-checked, didn't it?
