yeah, tough beat. But for his defense, if he put you on big unpaired, then, I guess it was a gutsy move from him.

Probably he does not know this, but having his hand, 99, and that flop, only AA, KK, QQ, 1010, 33, 77, Jx have his hand beat. That is his 9's beat about 82,9% of possible hands and his 9's are beaten by about 17,1% of possible hands.
