I hate this thing too. Best I have done is 11th in the $10 one and 18th in the $20 one. I have probably played them about 20 times. Only difference between you and me is that I have no belief that I can win them. Maybe that is what I need.

if helps if you can change your style of play, conserv at the start. build up your chip stack, then push people around towards the end. they will be scared because you have the power to knock them out, if they come over the top with an all in then you know they have a hand and you can get out.
