Not a bad beat at all...he was the dominating pre-flop favorite to win the hand after all the cards came, and that's what happened. You got lucky and cracked his kings when you hit the set. He got lucky to hit runner-runner for the straight.

That doesn't matter, that's not when the chips went in. When the chips went in JJ was the favourite and that's what counts.
Unlucky mate, thats a harsh beat.

With a flop of 3-10-J I would push with pocket kings as well.

He was the dominate pre-flop favorite with KK, that means by the time all 5 community cards are laid out the vast majority of the time KK will beat JJ. That's all that happened here. KK started out the huge favorite and ended up winning. It really doesn't matter what order the cards decide to come out. If he didn't hit runner-runner for the straight it would have been a mighty suck out against him as his KK would have been cracked by the big underdog of JJ.

Your saying its better to have

KK

than

JJ

with the flop as 3, 10, J,

Where flushes are not an issue.

Does he know you have JJ? He might think you have one J in your hand.....maybe, but really all he cares about is that he has a pair that is higher than what the board shows.

And at micro limits there is not much else people will think about either.

No, he's saying KK > JJ over the range of all possible boards, which is clearly true. For the specific flop of 3TJ rainbow, JJ > KK is clearly true also. But nothing's absolute in poker. Or in most any area of existence, for that matter.
