There were two hands between these... Same villian each time!

Since I was ahead when I pushed, should I have done anything different?

First hand is just rough luck. The guy is a calling station and no matter what you bet he wasn't going anywhere.

Second hand you were probably going broke. But I would have played it a little different. His raise of 4BB UTG should tell you he has a strong hand. I re raise to $1000 pre flop to show him i'm not fucking around and I have a decent hand. If he's any good he's folding to that kind of re raise. Holding a few chips back shows the stronger online players that you are comitted to the pot but have a real good hand. It sends more of a message that you mean business. In this spot a re raise to $1000 or $1500 send a much more powerfull message than a $2000 all in. If he's a calling station your getting stacked imo.
