Default Oh this one was fun.

I have AA in the BB with about 1450 in chips. Folds around to the SB who calls with about 1550. Blinds are 50 100, and the SB has been really loose lately. I raise to 200. Flop comes 8 5 4, rainbows. He pushes all in, I call immediately, he shows 65os. The river 5's cracks my AA straight in half.

What is horrid call. Maybe his significant other was whining - "get the f off the computer!"

Don't like to see your Aces getting cracked, but .... Your min raise looks like a blind steal, so I don't really fault SB for calling pf with any semi-coordinated cards. Flop is a texture that doesn't hit many hands. I don't recommend it or like it, but I can kind of see how he could go into power poker mode and push. Pot is 400, a decent size for this stage. If he bets the pot, he doesn't leave room to play the other streets. He maximizes fold equity by pushing. You could only call with a set or overpair - which you had. Then he gets lucky and draws out on you.

AA - "Win a little, lose a lot" I would have raised more pf.

You gave him 3 to 1 on his money PF, I probably would have called myself. Remember this is SB vs BB so really could be raising with anything here. Your raise to me says one of 2 things, either you're really strong and looking for action or you're weak and making a feeble attempt to take the pot PF or you're setting yourself up to take it down on the flop with a continuation bet.

His push on the flop is pretty stupid but it really is a dream flop for 65os. If he puts you on 2 overs, he's way the best of it. It really all depends on his read of you and your minimum raise PF. He interpreted it as weakness and went for the kill.

Yeah, I'm not really faulting his play. I know I could have protected my hand more initially with a bigger raise, but I was looking for action. It's an unfortunate situation, but again, not one I blame him for. And when I put my money in, I was 65% to win, and after the turn, I was 70% (it was a 2). So I was never a dog - until the river. Just bad cards.
