I go all-in - I mean my straight is the best hand, right? Why else would he call.

That's just bad luck. He doesn't kow you have a straight, just like if the board were A-J-T, you'll call with 2 pair a lot of times- or J-J-T. A-A-T, K-Q-T-Q boards.
