Default OH MY GOD

this is just sick. this is the work of some cruel, sick, asshole.

hell, give him aces, get it all in preflop, im fine. not this way. this is sick.

converter is fcked, guy in EP raised, this guy smooth called (wtf), i made it $16 from the bb, ep raiser folds, this guy smooth calls after taking forever so i put him on like 99-QQ. flop looks good for that range, so i lead out, he takes forever, again, and pushes all in.

this is an easy call for me, no way he would smooth call twice with aces, im way ahead. then i see runner runner heart and i knew it..

I understand the anger on the 1st hand. But the 2nd one? You saw 2 hearts on the flop--you had to account for the possibility of a flush coming down. I mean, I realize the odds are only 6.4% of getting the flush going into the turn, but once you factor in the odds of him picking up a 2nd ace (another 19%) and you were at a respectable 3-to-1 favorite to take the hand down, but not at a position by which you were considered a mortal lock..

Bottom line is, you will lose a hand in a situation like that 1 out of 4 times. You're somewhat defying the odds at the moment by going 0 for 2, but it's not like you lost 2 hands at 5% twice.

ok braniac tell me the fucking odds of getting dealt kings and losing to a heart flush 2 consevutive hands in a row. both times im a fav when the money goes in. (well, a favorite to NOT lose)

edit: dont actually tell me the odds. i will get even more mad.

Well, like I said: You have every right to be pissed about the first one. Assuming all he could get was the flush, you had a 98.2% chance of winning that hand at the flop (even though you didn't know it at the time). That's a gutshot. If he'd have drawn an ace on the river you'd not feel it nearly as hard.

As to your pocket kings losing twice in a row? Too many variables for kings specifically. Your odds of getting 2 pocket pair in a row are 1 in 289 though. It's a pretty big rarity. It's still just a pocket pair, though. You didn't get a set or fill a boat or anything else...you had a pocket pair.

I think one of the biggest things your average poker player does wrong/one of the biggest mistakes they make is they tend to overvalue pocket pairs. They're a great asset but they aren't a free pass to a pot, no matter how good they are.
