Believe it or not, I'm actually still alive. I drew a bad table that had 3 ESPN regulars at it to start--as well as the big blind. I was given a KQ suited that ended up being queens full--as well as quadrupled my chip stack and I'm pretty sure got my face on ESPN when they replay the main event, because 2 of the people I took down that hand were "poker celebrities". I got almost double THAT 2 hands later (and knocked someone out in the process. With a pair of 4's...). It rather killed my original plan of going out in a fast blaze and catching some live action since I'm so much more comfortable in limit games. I got my stack up about 4,000 chips over the next hour or so, and then doubled THAT on some karmic balancing where I took down pocket rockets and ultimately a set of them on the river with a 4th spade on the board that gave me my flush. I caught a bad break toward the end of the night that sent me back down to earth a bit (unfortunately, also almost sure to be on ESPN at some point), but I'm right in the thick of it.

I lost, by my estimation, 3 or 4 rounds of blinds because I had to leave early to catch a flight back home to tuck my kid in. So I'll have to try to make those up pretty quick, but otherwise? I'm having a pretty good time. I'm just glad that I didn't go on tilt after that bad beat. I don't think me angry would look good on tape
