I recently move up to 1/2 and have been getting KILLED. At one table last night I had the following happen:

AJ flop an A and lose to a straight
KK get called all the way down by AK who rivers an A
Kings up losing to another straight

My personal favorite was when the BB called TWO RAISES with 46s to catch 3 fours and beat my pocket aces.

So far at 1/2 I've got be be down somewhere approaching 10bb/100. Can I REALLY suck that much at 1/2 as compared to .50/1?

in the long run blah blah blah blah

ive seen at 1/2 and 2/4 that in majority of cases, AK will not be folded before the river....it is after all an ace AND a king.....how can u expect people to fold that?

you should also do what i do on a bad run, make a post at least every 30 minutes in the "things that make u go ahhh F..." thread.....amazing how it clears your mind when u see ur posts make up a whole page.....

Another banner freaking night, only this time I sucked at both 1/2 and .5/1.

I'm honestly begining to wonder - at what point do I admit I just can't DO this and sulk away with my tail between my legs? Can I really be THAT unlucky (I THINK I had some other doozies tonight), but maybe I'm really that BAD. When do you know when to give up?

Ya can't give up Gir, unlike myself you're at least able to beat .5/1...and I'm still going. Unfortunately I can't offer much help apparently the only place I can sustain a good win rate is .25/.5. You might just be having a bad run.

I dunno, I've about been beat into submission. At least I should finish up Bodog tonight and free to move on to the next PSO site. Worst part here is that barring a comback tonight I'll have lost money even AFTER the PSO and Bodog referral bonuses.

Well your overall play at .5/1 (excluding recent events) has been good right? So.... you took a shot at a higher limt for a bit and it wasn't so great, not the end of the world, could've just been cold cards. You know you can beat other limits and make $ so it's not like you don't know how to play...the $ can be made back.

Sure it sucks losing $ but if you know you can beat certain levels, it just means you gotta grind a little more than usual to make it back. Maybe you just need some time off, or forget about clearing this or that bonus, and just play for the sake of playing. Maybe at a level you're comfortable with, or lower than just for the hell of it where suckouts and beats won't be that big of a deal till you're ready to get back in the saddle.

It's not like you've always been a loosing player, you're a winning player that's having a bad run. If you didn't have the skills to play winning poker you might have a legitamate case...you just might need some time to clear you head.
