Again, we're playing Low stakes games here. And we're shorthanded. WTF is with passivity on the turn??? Bet $5 here, if he called the flop, he's calling the turn. You want to put his money in now....

Yea I'm not saying I played it stellar b/c I didnt. I mean I put him on the case queen, but the case 7 is just as likely, unless he's slow playing KK or AA. Still rough to lose to a one-outer

the fact he checked the turn shows real weakness in his hand after just flat calling your bet on the flop. It would've been really hard to put him on the case 7 on the river i suppse, a queen wld look most likely.

Im a bit confused tho - did he check the river with quads? the pot is the same on turn and then river or is someone all in?

Well anyway you're lucky you didnt put more chips in on the turn as he woulda called with trip 7s no doubt especially at low stakes no matter what you bet. You're lucky you didnt, however it was wrong play to check the turn especially after he called a bet on the flop so he's likely to call a similar size bet again. You could've lost a lot more i guess

The HH is messed up, I bet the river and he pushed over the top, and I of course called.

I had almost the exact same hand last night! Except I was holding 88 and the flop came 484. Same result though, the third 4 came on the river and the guy who limped with 45o and stuck around after flopping trips got his one-outer.

I didn't raise the river though. I don't know how I knew he had the 4, but after trying to build the pot throughout the hand, I smelled danger and backed off. Called his river bet though, no way was I folding a full house, just in case it was a fours-full boat I was sensing instead of quads. So I ended up relatively unscathed.

1 piece of advice. Try not to let anyone limp with pockets like that. In a 9 handed table 88 will be the best hand 76% of the time and so a raise is very worth while. If you do win the blinds it's not a bad thing and hopefully you'll only leave people with high cards in the pot. That way you can put your opponents on something. (or mayb they hav higher pockets and ur screwed but still worth a raise preflop)
