that was against a very loose player (the same on my other post, actually... now 54/9 after 46 hands)
after he fold I just facepalmed thinking I should have checked the river
and maybe bet more on the turn (he was probably straight drawing, and was a calling station)

quads, check river?

pre and flop are good and the right sizing, no less than 3.75 on the turn, and bet like 85-90% on the river.

Piv pretty much has it right on... turn bet was undersized... river check would be bad here... normal value bet about the size of the pot would work.... every once in a while I'd make an overbet on the end that looks like a steal... with that board anyone with any kind of boat is likely to look you up since it looks like your AK AQ didn't hit... but whatever you do... don't check here... you're just losing value that way....

don't overbet because you can't balance it, you don't have enough bluffs here

I would just go ahead and bet, hoping to get value from an 8 5 or pocket pair. It will seem very unlikely to him that you would have quads and he may struggle to fold any full house. Checking to induce a bluff is not so effective against the typical passive player in low stakes games. If he was really wild, you might have a decision to make.

go much bigger on the turn - $5 then you can bet pot $15 but a better option is to shove the river. if he has a full house he will call, otherwise he'll fold so you might as well try and get all of it.

Never check the river to a calling station when you have the nuts.
