This past weekend i was at foxwoods playing 1-2 no limit holdem. I had about 570 dollars in front of me at this time.
The person I had trouble with was the button. So the hand gets dealt and i look down at KhKd.
UTG raises to 8 dollars a move he has frequently made and we have saw with cards such as Q 6 off and other junk. So reraise this bet to 24 dollars preflop. Now the button calls. The button how ever is an older gentleman wearing very expensive clothes and has thrown money around quite a bit at the table and has shown quite a few bluffs. About three of us were having trouble with this player due to his high aggression on the river. He would play a check call type game to the river and then bet about 120 dollars no matter what the pot was every time it got to the river against this one person. Definatly had his number. I know he was bluffing a few hands against the kid and was hoping to get paid off by showing bluffs constantly when he had it. So anyways he calls the 24 dollar preflop raise as does the UTG. now the pot is up to 75 dollars at this point.
The flop comes 6c qc 3c. UTG decides to check and im next to act. I dont like the flop that much however im still over the board and theres no straight opportunities yet there is a major flush draw obviously. now here is where the play went bad. I thought to myself that niether flopped a flush or hoped anyway. so i took 70 dollars and bet at the pot. trying to persuade the flush draw if there is one to fold or really make bad calls to see if they get there. So after i bet that the button pushes all in for about 700 dollars. UTG folds. it took me a while but i ended up folding. He actually showed that he hit the flush. I just couldnt believe that he would re raise all in over the top with such a strong hand thats why i didnt know wether to call or not. Especially with the way he was treating the younger guys down my end of the table. I put him on maybe the Ace of clubs and maybe paired the queen. I ended up folding and he showed Ac10c for the flush so i guess its good i didnt call but was betting the 75 at the pot the wrong play there?

Not at all. I think you handled the situation well. He made the bad play by coming over the top on the flop, holding the nuts. He should have flat called and seen if you would hang yourself on the turn. You made a good fold. I would have probably folded there too, but as you did, I would of been thinking I was folding the better hand ATM. I'd have put him on AQ holding the Ac.

I think Bet/folding is indeed the best play on the flop, I think I'd rather bet $50-$60 to keep the pot smaller but still try to gain value from draws, you also save yourself a bit of money when you get raised.
If you get flat called, I'd be pretty cautious and try to get to cheap showdown. Kinda crappy situation when playing deep.
Since he was showing so many bluffs, he probably wanted to keep a poor image so he would get called in situations like this. There's a good chance you had QQ+ and he likely didn't think you were good enough to fold.

Absolutely the right move. Knight has a good point on keeping the pot small with a board like that, but in the end you made the right move. Always bet when you hit the board in a heads up situation unless you are trying to plant seeds in your doubt garden (but that is a different subject all together). He was the one who was making the stupid move. A board like that is hard to extract, but he did the worst thing you could do regardless of his table image.

I also would have folded on the flop. Not knowing the table, I would have popped PF raise more like $32-$40. I'd rather take it down then and there then get sucked out. Gotta make them pay for their draws. acting second (in the middle) after a check and another behind you, the bet was mostly likely the best play. If it was me, I would have checked honestly. 3 players, one has to have a flush or draw, Ac mostly likely if anything.
