SB: $23.62
BB: $11.01
Hero: $45.35
MP1: $60.55
MP2: $30.71
Button: $25.00
[ I really can't remember reads, this is an older hand so that sucks. But I figure it's best to go back and analyze.]
Hero is dealt![]()
SB .10 - BB .25 - Hero raises to $1.00 - MP1 raises to $3.00 - MP2 calls $3.00 - 3 folds - Hero calls $3.00
Flop:![]()
![]()
Hero checks - MP1 checks - MP2 bets $9.35
Should we just dump this hand every time or is it ever profitable to raise/shove/call ? (assuming we have implied odds if we hit our hand.) Also, what do you think about preflop action?

I don't think implied odds of winning $18 is worth the $9.35 of calling.
Calling and seeing a brick turn sucks as he's shoving the turn and we don't have nearly enough pot odds to call then. MP1 is unlikely to smooth call (if we do) either as he would have led out himself if he had a hand. Raising sucks in that we have almost no fold equity and are effectively flipping 110bb against his range but at least we're maximising our equity in the hand.
I think if we check, then fold > raising > calling. But I would have preferred to donk-get it in on this flop.
Edit: I'm stupid. $9 in pot already. 50% of time we lose $27. 50% of the time we win $36. +$5.5.
Raise. I hate calling still though.Last edited by breathoflife89; 02-12-2010 at 07:38 AM.

your action really depends on the type of player that made the bet. If he/she was a fairly tight player, you have to assume you are facing an over pair and have, at best, 15 outs to win. If you don't connect on the turn, you can expect to face an even bigger bet, which would be tough to call.
If, however, the player has been loose and aggressive the whole time, he could just be banking on the fact that you probably didn't connect with that flop and he already seen MP1 check and was making a continuation bet. In this instance, it would at least be appropriate to make the call and possibly raise it. This way if he does call, you take control of the pot and if you DO connect with your flush, it will be harder for him to see it and give you better implied odds if he winds up improving his hand too.

I don't think you're often ahead stacking off with AK preflop at microstakes.
I rarely see people get it in with AQ etc.

MP1 checking here is weird, MP2 has 1010-QQ more then he has AA/KK here imo.
Previously thought to be sane.

MP1 one hand looks so much like AK and he is shutting down and just giving up, unless he is playing AA or KK really badly on the flop. MP2 most likely has a PP or some weird 7 if he is a fish (A7s, 67, 87 or J10c type)
As played I think check shoving is better than check folding and calling is the worst because if you hit you probably aren't getting paid. Just remember when you shove this flop you are flipping and will only win around 50% of the time, but because of the dead money you will show a profit over the long term.

@piv Hero is 180bb deep versus the reraiser, I doubt 4b/call is going to be profitable here. I'd take that line with any stacks of like 125bb or less.
Definitely check/raise flop and get all in. Your equity is huge against basically every hand.
