    Default AQ on turn

New at table so no reads on UTG. How do I play this turn?

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    SB ($30.25)
    Hero (BB) ($25.70)
    UTG ($25.35)
    MP ($25.35)
    CO ($18.90)
    Button ($24.30)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, Q
UTG bets $1, 4 folds, Hero raises to $3, UTG calls $2

    Flop: ($6.10) 8, 7, A (2 players)
Hero bets $3.70, UTG calls $3.70

    Turn: ($13.50) 9 (2 players)
    Hero???

Edit: Sorry, thought we were on Button.
I just bet-fold about 1/2 pot. And then if called, check-call a small bet on blank river, or check-fold any spade/T/J

    And yeah, I don't like 3bet either.

check & try to get to show down cheaply.

If you are new at the table why are u 3betting AQ against an UTG open raise?

On super drawy flops like this you should bet closer to pot, you need to make the draws pay.
also, if a blank on the T hits it is an than an easy shove

Out of position with someone calling is tough. If this were me, I would try to keep some pressure after the third spade hit. He has a good hand because he called preflop, but he does not know that you might have hit your flush. If he had a set or two pair the flush on the board might scare him off. If he's the one with the flush you will see a raise if you lead bet.

I say lead for just under 3/4 the pot. If he riases, your toast. If he folds, you win the pot. If he calls, re-evaluate on the river.

Villain can deffinately have AJ AQ AK 99-QQ. I fire again small. Not sure I like the preflop 3bet we need some reads.

Without reads I probably dont 3bet him preflop from BB.

As is you need to bet more on the flop. I would have just bet $5.

On the turn I definitely fire 1/2 pot with no reads.

c/f river unless he bets really really small in which case I call to see what he has.
Lots of good rakeback options at http://www.rakeguard.com/?raf=KRE8R

KRE8R probably has about seventy college funds in his NL5 roll.

Ok thanks everyone. I 3bet pre because I figure in a readless situation raising>calling>folding is generally true. When I call I feel like i'm always c-folding most flops and that maybe i could profit from a more aggressive line. But i ended up stacking off against AK here and this doesn't seem to be all that uncommon for me, so i guess i need to use more discretion.

IMO your distance above his range is not large enogh to 3bet pre given your positional disadvantage. i tend to nit it up and fold.

Gotta say I agree with everyone here (except OP). Great to see the good advice flowing in.

This is a situation where I would stack off as well if I'm off my game. Immediately after you think..."WTF could I have beaten...AJ?!!"
