Default Am I this bad at plo?

should I have known he has to have 9's? I just felt I was ahead of any other pair that didnt hit trips, and had nut flush. I was getting it in on turn anyway. But was the push/call on flop good?

I have tried being a nit all day. About to step down to PLO5. Ive dropped 60$ in probably 2 hours in this level.

Yeah a bare overpair is rarely good in Omaha unless it's the driest, driest board in the world.

So in spot like tht, just call on flop and try and hit the trips or nut flush? Also making sure board doesnt pair in case he does have the nines? Or just fold?

nut overpair + nut flush draw + bottom pair =/= "bare overpair"

op, check out this link and try plugging in some possible hands for villain. equitycalculator

you'll find out that you're in bad but not terrible shape against sets, flipping against top two pair, and beating a lot of big draw hands.

think a little bit about what his reraising range is. i'm not sure how much villain had been 3betting, but even if it had been a lot, it would still be a little weird for him to turn up with a set of 5's or 4's on this flop. maybe stuff like 7655 double suited would merit a 3bet, but in general i think you can discount the 55xx and 44xx combos a lot because of preflop.

basically i think stacking off on this flop is fine, though i'm still undecided about whether or not your flop donk bet is a good move. the pros and cons of bet vs. c/r are pretty complex and i'm not sure i entirely understand them myself, so i'll just say that if you check and face a bet, it's very standard to repot and get all in, and if you lead out like you did, it's also very standard to get all in when villain repots.

and on a final note, i just want to warn you that variance in plo is extremely intense. i wouldn't really attach all that much significance to the fact that you had a -6 buyin session. the only thing to do is to keep trying to play as well as you can and hopefully the results will reflect that effort sooner or later

I appreciate all the help. I am trying to take it all in and keep getting better. I just got fed up with holdem, cash or sng, so learning something else. My BR is almost gone, but trying to have some fun while it lasts I guess. Some of these PLO guys are just horrid, just feel like I could make a good bit in long run.

    I second everything Squeezy says.

10 outs to the nuts means that the worst you can be is 35%

because it is just you and him when he raises you, I think you have to repot back for value.

If you would have repotted pre than you lead out/stack off.

as played its a loose stack off.

I would c/r the flop but it depends on the opponent.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.
