I was playing a hand at Turningstone the last time I was there, where I was wondering if I did something wrong. I had been up from a $100 buy in at the $1/2 NL table, with about $400 in front of me. I was against a bad loose/agressive player with about $175. I was in the cutoff with QQ. Bad player is UTG raises to $12. I've seen him raise with very questionable cards before, such as 4 8s, Q 6s and 6 9o to name a few. Action folds to me with myself and the 2 blinds left to act. I re pop it here to $35, blinds fold.
Donk thinks about it for a while and finally calls. Flop comes 3 6 9 rainbow. BB checks. I bet $65. Donk goes into the tank for 1 min...2min...3min till I finally had enough and called the clock on him. He took 20 seconds of the 30 the floor gave him to make the call, and just calls. Does not go all in. Turn comes up an A. I put him on an ace, so I checked the turn, he quickly checks behind. River pairs the board with another 3 (no flushes). He only had about $75 behind him. I bet the $75 on the river and he calls and turns over A J.
I think I may have made the wrong move on the flop by calling the clock, but I was really getting tired of waiting, and the other players wanted to play some more poker. I'm guessing he was thinking about whether or not his jack was live. Should I have checked the river and possibly saved myself $75 if he went all in, though I may have thought I was committed enough to make the call. Should I not have re-popped on the flop? Ne opinions would be great.

Dude, I'm really confused about this hand.
1st you say he's UTG. Then you say he's BB. Then it says he quickly checks BEHIND you on the turn.

reraise a bit more preflop, 40 sounds good. as played there's nothing you can do about it; he made a bad flop call and got there, it's pretty standard to lose the rest of your money

Personally if he is as loose as you say he is then I don't mind betting the river to get value from hands like Q9, K9, 9ts, pocket tens, etc, etc.
Do you think he'd fold those hands? I don't think calling the clock is an issue. I think yeah he showed up with an ace this time but we can't be results orientated and we have to think about the entire range of hands that could call.
So the question is this, why were YOU personally betting the river? You said that you put him on an ace, so if that's true, why did you bet? Did you think he'd fold an ace?
