It's fine. If the villain wasn't half-stacked, I'm betting the flop for sure.

prolly make it $6 pre, i open 3bb but iso bigger since people have a fetish for limp/calling hence we make another 1-2bbs here by isoing bigger

flop check is absolutely fine, i'd personally gaybet hopefully to induce some spaz from the fd and KK/QQ

turn and river play themselves obviously

    Looks good to me.

I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

cool. given what he had, this line was pretty much perfect, wanted to make sure I wasn't being results-oriented

if you put him on QQ+, you don't really have the right odds to setmine preflop. if he's lrr before or if you have been isoing his limps a shitton and expect him to spaz out a little, i would just shove it in preflop. otherwise i think you need to make a disciplined fold.

    as played, postflop is perfect.

I think not shoving pre for 40bb is a mistake.
    Post flop is fine.

the term "results-oriented" doesn't infer that the aforementioned results are negative.
