Default I think I might have made a mistake here...

Ok so I was playing .02/.05 NL on full tilt and I just joined the table so I didn't have any information on any of the players. Unfortunately I don't have the program to recreate the hand but I do know exactly how it went:

I get dealt KK in middle position. I reraised to .15 and got one caller at the CO.

So, with 37 cents in the pot, flop comes Ah 9c 10h. I bet out .15 to see where I lie in the hand and the other guy raises me to .25. So at this point I figure he either has an ace, flush draw, straight draw, or something like K 10. I decided to just call and see what the turn brought.

87 cents in the pot, turn came:
    As

At this point, I wasn't sure the best way to proceed. I decided to act in a way to represent I might have an ace- I checked. I feel like I could find out if he had the ace here because he might fear I was checkraising him (if he didn't have it), and thus wouldn't bet unless he had the ace. He bet .50 cents, and I folded.

Now looking back, I'm thinking maybe I should have checkraised him on the turn anyway. That way I would have definitely found out where I stood in the hand because then he would have only reraised with the ace or better. What do you all think? Even though I play in the micro-stakes, this hand has been bugging me for a few hours.

    i wouldnt c/r him.

you fold out all his bluffs.
if u wanna continue, call turn, then call river.

if u call turn u have to call river imo (otherwise fold turn).

You didn't play the hand too bad which is a good start.

Now lets think about why you would be check/raising him? You are out of position which always sucks in poker and you know nothing about the villain.

If you think he could be on a draw you could either check/ call to get value from his bluffs and semi bluffs or you could lead the turn to stop him from seeing a free card. But again you know nothing about him and are just hoping he has a draw.

By check/raising you are creating a huge pot with second pair (a hand with showdown value) and what would your plan on the river be if he flat called?

i wouldnt have checkraised at all. if you checkraised and he didnt have an ace, he folds. if he does, he goes all in or calls your raise. i would have probably made the call on the turn and river (depending on what the riv brought), but laying it down there is not completely wrong, its a tough call. but i definitely wouldnt have checkraised on the turn

I thought you played alright. It's possible he had the ace, and with no reads it isn't worth the risk. Fold and move on.

sick bump from 4 weeks ago. doubt op is coming back, but just in case, the right play is to lead the flop a little bit bigger and fold to any raise
